I have always been fascinated by the images of Dr. Seuss. I have several of his books. I turn the book images upside down so that I can see them as purely abstract design. As I work with acrylic paint and found collage as well as my own hand painted collage, the design elements start to appear. I sand the surface to reveal texture. I add more collage, paint and fabrics to complete the image. Then I find a corresponding title from one of Dr. Seuss' books.
This painting can be paired with the preceding painting and the one following it, Bungle Bay and Boober Bridge to make a diptych 48" high and 108" wide. I suggest that the paintings be hung 3" apart which would make the length 114" long.
